Adoption of Agenda: There were no changes to the proposed meeting agenda. Trustee McKnight motioned to adopt. President Karis-Nix seconded. Approved 4-0.

President’s Report: President Karis-Nix welcomed Trustee-elect Margaret Harris of Schodack, who will be joining our board following her swearing-in. Trustee-elect Harris is a retired librarian from East Greenbush Town library.
Secretary’s Report: President Karis-Nix motioned to adopt the June minutes with no changes. Trustee McKnight seconded. Approved 4-0.
Director’s Report: See enclosure (1). In the absence of Director Amy Peker, President Karis-Nix reported the library’s newly-redesigned website has been running smoothly. Also, the library’s new charter amendment has been approved by the NYS Board of Regents, recognizing the Village of Castleton as its service area.
Friends Report: The Friends are participating in the summer “Music in the Park” at the Schodack Island State Park, where they fund raise with bake sales and 50/50 raffles. The park allows them the use of a pavilion, which means the events go on rain or shine. Also, the Friends are partnering with Castleton Kiwanis, the Castleton Fire Department and other community groups to host an annual Halloween Parade on November 1. The Friends’ annual Barnes & Noble fundraiser is set for Saturday, November 22 at Colonie Center.

- Administrative Committee- None.
- Finance Committee/Treasurer’s Report— See enclosure (2). Trustee Hiser motioned to approve the monthly check detail. President Karis-Nix seconded. Approved 4-0.
- Operations/Capital Projects Committee--President Karis-Nix reported the library has signed a contract with Creative Library Concepts in the amount of $59,866.87 to provide furnishings and installation for the library’s renovation project, as per a $90,000 budget cap approved by the board at the June meeting. Vice President Truesdell reported the committee is engaged in seeking and accepting contractor proposals for the balance of the renovation project. Trustee Hiser noted that Civil Service protocol should be consulted regarding the library staff during the period of renovation.

Announcements: Barb Kelp announced this fall’s Friends of the Library Book Sale will be conducted across the street from Nina Martino’s house, thanks to a generous neighbor.
