The meeting was called to order by Vice President Mullahy at 7:00 pm.
Roll Call
Present: Ryan Mullahy, Vice President; Nathan Hans, Treasurer; Zachary Goldstein, Trustee; Mary Claire Aitken, Trustee; Maria Marcucci, Trustee arrived at 7:04pm.
Absent: Olivia Karis-Nix, President and Sarah Niemitalo, Secretary
Adoption of Agenda: Trustee Hans motioned to approve agenda and Trustee Aitken seconded. Unanimously approved.
Public Comment: none
President’s Report: None due to the absence of the president of the board.
Secretary’s Report:. Trustee Hans motioned to adopt minutes from the March 20, 2017 meeting with Trustee Aitken as second. Unanimously approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Discussion held due to fiscal year difference with Village. Fiscal year for the Library is January to December and Village is July to June. Village has approved a $3000 recurring annual increase for total annual contribution of $13,000. Approval of March check detail motioned by Vice President Mullahy and seconded by Trustee Marcucci.
Director’s Report: The director distributed annual UHLS dinner invitation. The director reported the legal clinic will be renewed and start May 16, 2017. Statistics reported a larger increase in eContent due to a change in UHLS data review of library patronage. This increase should be seen through February 2018. Trustee Hans asked about the meeting with the East Greenbush librarian Jill Dugas-Hughes to discuss the position of a youth librarian to share. Financial impacts include more funds needed to cover the costs of the position. N. Hans commented on the funding source 259 school budget vote and wished to incorporate this into the long range plan. The director highlighted library programs.
Friends Report: B. Kelp presented a busy schedule for the Friends including the Mother’s Day raffle, the bottle drive and June 10 pasta dinner for $8 and silent auction at the Castleton Fire House from 5pm to 8pm. Donations are needed for the silent auction.

Policy Committee – Disaster plan in progress
Long Range Planning Committee – Venues are set for the focus groups. The middle school has been booked for the May 8 meeting for the Schodack group. The school district has graciously waived the fee for usage. The rider for insurance is covered by the library policy. The Castleton Fire House has been booked for the May 15 meeting for the Castleton group. There is no fee for the Fire House. Trustee Goldstein will hold the list of participants. Trustee Marcucci will do the cold calling.
Old Business:
Word of Mouth - Director Tacke asked that the knitting group be publicized for the third Wednesday of each month starting May 17, 2017 at 6pm.
