Notes from Our Director:

Fall means fun at Castleton Public Library!  As the air becomes crisp and daylight gets shorter, it's a great time to curl up with a book or a movie. It's also a good time to visit the library to enjoy a family craft activity, a book discussion, or to learn more about a topic that interests you.

Thanks to support from the NYS Library's Adult Literacy Library Services Program, we're able to present a free seminar for people interested in starting a business. Join us on Wednesday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. for So You Want to Be an Entrepreneur with career counselor Dr. Tom Denham. Please register by calling us at 518-732-0879.

The library is preparing for our second annual Halloween Costume Swap on Saturday, October 15 (more details below in our events calendar!). We're currently accepting donations of any clean, used or new costumes, masks, wigs, and accessories for children, teens, and adults. Donations can be dropped off any time during the library's hours of operation from now through October 14. You don't have to donate to participate in the swap. Don't forget to join us for our other fun Halloween events.

Finally, just in time for your fall and holiday shopping, the Friends of Castleton Public Library can help you save a bundle while raising important funds for the library’s ongoing success.  Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends is a community program that provides 25% off most purchases at Boscov’s when you buy a $5 shopping pass from The Friends. How does it work? Just buy your pass (available at the library through 10/18) and shop at any Boscov's on Tuesday, October 18.

See below for a complete list of our October programs. We hope you'll join us this fall!

Best,

Melissa Tacke, Library Director
