Notes from Our Director:

Save the date -- our Summer Reading Club starts in just a few short weeks! We have our official Summer Reading Club Kickoff on the library lawn on Saturday, June 26 (see events listing below for details). You can sign up for our Summer Reading Club any time, all summer long, beginning Friday, June 25. We'll have more information about this summer's activities and reading fun available on our website after June 15. Stay tuned!

We're happy to share that we've partnered with the Castleton-on-Hudson Main Street Association (COHMSA) to offer a Main Street StoryWalk! A StoryWalk places pages from a picture book along a walking route so families can enjoy a story and the outdoors at the same time. The StoryWalk begins at 94 S. Main Street. Follow the notes on the pages to go to the next page in the story. The Main Street StoryWalk is part of COHMSA's three great reasons to visit Main Street this summer, along with the Main Street Mile and geocaches on Main Street! Learn more about COHMSA here.

Don't forget about our fun take & make craft and science kits for children and teens! Our June kits are available for pick-up from now through Friday, June 25:
  • Cool Science at Home: Paper Rockets
  • Take & Make Crafts: Rainbow Crafts
  • Teen Time: Design Your Own Journal (for teens in 6th-12th grades only)
Once our Summer Reading Club starts on 6/26, we'll offer a different craft kit every week and a different science kit every two weeks, all summer long! Learn more about our summer kits later this month!
