Notes from Our Director:

Good news -- we are expanding our services to reintroduce public computer access and seating on a limited basis! We now have one public computer station available on a first-come, first-served basis. We have also reintroduced one table that can be used by one person. Also, you can now visit the library for up to 60 minutes. For everything you need to know about visiting the library during this time, please visit https://tinyurl.com/CPL-Visit.

We're also continuing to hold outdoor events at the library! See our event listing below for information about our first Storytime on the Lawn, an outdoor Beading Bonanza event, and the return of our in-person Afternoon Book Club. Please note that registration is required for most of our outdoor events!

We've also begun our seasonal partnership with Schodack Island State Park to offer a StoryWalk. The StoryWalk places pages from a picture book along a walking path so families can enjoy a story and the outdoors at the same time. The StoryWalk begins near the playground at Schodack Island State Park. We'll put up a new book each month through October. Be sure to check out this month's StoryWalk book, Hello Spring!

Don't forget about our fun take & make craft and science kits for children and teens! Our May kits are available for pick-up from now through Saturday, May 29:
  • Cool Science at Home: Music
  • Take & Make Crafts: Flower Crafts
  • Teen Time: Minute to Win It Games (for teens in 6th-12th grades only)
Last but not least, be sure to check out the fundraising events held by The Friends of Castleton Public Library. The Friends will hold their first-ever Plant Sale on Saturday, May 15 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The Plant Sale will be held at the intersection of Scott Avenue and Main Street.

Best,

Melissa Tacke
