Notes from Our Director: 

We're now hiring! We're seeking a part-time Library Aide to begin work in early September. Details about the position and how to apply can be found by clicking here. Be sure to apply by Monday, August 14. 

Summer is still in full swing at CPL! Check out a full list of our remaining summer programs below -- there's a lot going on for kids, teens, and adults. Don't miss our Summer Reading Finale Party on Friday, August 19 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Play a life-size game of Candyland and carnival games as you celebrate a summer of reading!

Are you participating in our Summer Reading Program? Be sure to turn in your reading record to us by Friday, August 25 to be eligible for our Summer Reading raffle prize drawings (we'll also give kids & teens a special surprise goody bag when they turn in their reading record from August 17 through August 25!). Happy reading and good luck!

Snack Attack! With Honest Weight Food Co-Op

Tuesday, August 1, 6:00 p.m.

Do you love to snack? The Honest Weight Food Co-Op will teach us about creating healthy snacks, including smoothies, veggies and cheese kabobs, fruit dip, trail mix, and healthy soda.
Building with MakeDo

Wednesday, August 2, 3:00-6:00 p.m.

Join us to make cool cardboard constructions on the front lawn using a MakeDo construction kit!
Yoga on the Lawn

Wednesday, August 2, 6:30 p.m.

With instructor Rachel Toolan. In case of bad weather, yoga will be held indoors. Please bring your own mat. All skill levels welcome; for ages 12 and up.
Therapy Dog Storytime

Thursday, August 3, 10:30 a.m.

At this special storytime, we'll read about therapy dogs, then get to meet a real live therapy dog and her owner!
Cool Science: Soda Explosion!

Thursday, August 3, 4:00-6:00 p.m.

In this wild experiment, we'll watch a crazy chemical reaction up close!
 
Read it Forward Teen Book Club

Thursday, August 3, 6:00 p.m.

Teens, now that you've "Read it Forward," stop by the library to eat pizza and talk about I am Princess X by Cherie Priest. Please register; call 732-0879.

Traveling Pond

A traveling pond from Dyken Pond will "splash" its way into our library with live fish, salamanders, frogs, and insects! Children will be able to touch live animals and will learn how they survive in a watery environment.

Blacksmith John Ackner will bring his portable forge to demonstrate basic blacksmithing and discuss the history of blacksmithing with all ages!
Building a Better Community: Get Well Cards

More Than Sad: Suicide Prevention Education for Parents
