Notes from Our Director:

The library is still closed, but I'm checking in with you mid-month to share about a few new services we have to offer!

We're now offering access to Hoopla, with more than 750,000 free eBooks, digital audiobooks, comics, music albums, movies, and TV! Items borrowed through Hoopla can be borrowed by multiple people at once -- which means every item is instantly available on demand! You can borrow a maximum of 5 items every month. Download the Hoopla app or visit hoopladigital.com to get started. Need help? Email me at director@castletonpubliclibrary.org.

We've also begun offering virtual classes and events for children and adults. Joelle, our Youth Services Librarian, has put together Virtual Storytimes (new storytime added every Wednesday) and has begun a Cool Science at Home series (new video added every 2-3 weeks).

For grown-ups, we're offering live virtual events, including our first Virtual Book Club. We'll be discussing The Mountains Sing by Nguyen Phan Que Mai. The book is available on Hoopla as an eBook and as a digital audiobook. We hope you'll join us for the book discussion on Monday, May 4!

On our Facebook page over the last few weeks, we've been sharing links to activities to have fun, learn, and explore! We've now consolidated these links onto a page on our website - click here to access. We'll continue to add more links frequently through the duration of our closure.

For the most up-to-date information about library operations, when we will reopen, and any temporary changes to our services when we reopen, please visit our website: www.castletonpubliclibrary.org. We miss you and look forward to seeing you when we reopen! If you need any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us -- email me at director@castletonpubliclibrary.org or call 518-732-0879.

Best,

Melissa Tacke
