Castleton Public Library Welcomes New Director, Melanie Sheldon

The Castleton Public Library Board of Trustees is excited to announce the new Library Director, Melanie Sheldon! Melanie is currently acting as Interim Director and was previously CPL’s Programming and Outreach Coordinator.

Melanie began working at CPL in 2023 as a Library Assistant before moving into the full-time role of Programming and Outreach Coordinator. In that role, she designed and facilitated library programming for patrons of all ages while also developing and cultivating relationships within the community. Some of Melanie’s favorite patrons know her as Miss Melanie, thanks to her presence at storytime and school field trip visits.

A statement from Melanie: “I am thrilled to take on the role of Library Director at this library that I love. Over the last three years, I have met so many wonderful people here in Castleton and have always felt welcomed and valued by our community members. I can’t wait to expand the relationships I have made and create new opportunities for our Village and our patrons.”
